    • Our Mission

Cottonwood Resource Council  safeguards for future generations the high quality of life we enjoy in Sweet Grass County, clean air and water, abundant wildlife, and a heritage of cooperation among neighbors. To do that, we:

      • Monitor existing and potential development of Sweet Grass County's resources.
      • Organize local citizens to promote a clean and healthful environment and active participation in local issues.

      Being a Good Neighbor

Through our Good Neighbor Agreement with Stillwater Mining Company and other initiatives, we monitor existing and potential development of Sweet Grass County's resources.

      • Our vigilance promotes more socially responsible business and development practices.
      • Our efforts provide a clean and healthful environment while avoiding costly clean-up of mine waste and other industrial hazards.

      Organizing local citizens

We organize Sweet Grass County residents to promote a clean and healthful environment and active participation in local issues.

      • We give local citizens reliable and timely information about issues important to the community.
      • Our Good Neighbor Agreement with Stillwater Mining Company allows area residents the opportunity to monitor the mine's performance and ensure adherence to protective environmental standards.
